All Aboard
the Auto Train
First there was the long ride from Lorton, Virginia to Sanford, Florida.
We boarded the train at 4:00 and departed Virginia around 5:30pm. Alex
read her book and Hannah jumped around the cabin most of the time.
Chris had a relaxing game of solitiare and mom took pictures. The room
on the train was plenty comfortable for the 4 of us. The beds were a
little small...except for Chris' bunk. He actually had close to a twin
size bed....the rest were much smaller.
Eating on the train was the coolest. For dinner Chris had the trout,
Ginger had the beef tenderloin and the girls had Choo Choo Chewies....dinosaur
shaped chicken Nuggets with Macaroni and Cheese (that "tastes just
like Kraft" Alex says). We past time in the dining car by looking
out the window and counting houses and tree with Christmas lights. Breakfast
was bagels, cereal with juice and coffee. At breakfast we could see
palm trees and orange groves.
