You might think we would be done with planes but we found the best
way to see everything was from above. Our pilot, J.T. was both a seasoned
flyer as well as knowledgeable about the local geology and history.
Alex had great fun finding lava tubes, buttes, and small water holes
from her birds eye view and keeping us informed with the radio seta
we all wore. She will bring back several award winning shots from
her camera.
The small plane gave us a great view of the geological wonders in
the southwest. Unfortunately it also proved a little disconcerting
for the tummies of both father and daughter in the back seat. Although
we didn't make use of the provided "Sic- Sacks" we found
some small comfort in have them at hand.
"A landing so gentle, it wouldn't wake a baby."
Alex decided to rest both her stomach and eyes as we made our return
approach. A trip that was just long enough for father, maybe a few
minutes too long, and a great photo opportunity for the exploring
Butchers.
